After going pointless in the final three games of Round 2, Verhaeghe has heated back up again in the Eastern Conference Final, collecting five points in the first two games in Raleigh.

Verhaeghe should be in line for more opportunities in Game 3, especially if Sam Reinhart isn’t able to suit up for the Panthers. Verhaeghe was double-shifted a few times after Reinhart left Game 2 with a lower-body injury.

🚨 Sam Bennett Over 0.5 points ⭐⭐⭐

Mikko Rantanen and Sergei Bobrovsky may be the favorites for this year’s Conn Smythe Trophy, but don’t sleep on the chances of Bennett. The tough-nosed winger has emerged as a compelling dark horse, entering Game 3 as Florida’s playoff leader in goals and expected goals.

Bennett has scored a goal in eight of his 14 playoff outings, including a pair in Game 2, and he’s attempted 37 shots in his last six. With linemate Matthew Tkachuk starting to look healthier and Verhaeghe in top form, there’s little reason to think Bennett’s production will slow down anytime soon.

Fans were yelling at all the Hurricanes players to shoot the puck more on Thursday night, but Svechnikov might have needed to hear it the most. After averaging nearly eight shot attempts per game in Round 2 versus Washington, Svechnikov has attempted only six shots through the first two games of this series.

With the Hurricanes’ season essentially on the line tonight, expect Svechnikov to be firing the puck every chance he gets, especially after being called out by coach Rod Brind’Amour for not being on the same page as his teammates in Game 2.
