⚾ Shohei Ohtani (Dodgers) to hit a home run ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Best odds: +200 via FanDuel (bet $10 to win $20)
Ohtani has gone eight games without a homer, which simply means he's due.
The Dodgers square off against Randy Vasquez this afternoon, who is truly awful. His xERA is more than two runs higher than his actual ERA, and he's in the bottom 1% of pitchers in terms of his maximum exit velocity allowed this season. Sure, he does a relatively OK job of limiting hard contact. But when hitters do get a hold of one, they nearly break the sound barrier.
And who better to do that today than Ohtani? Despite not hitting a home run since June 2, the superstar has managed an average exit velocity of at least 93 mph in five of those eight games.
My favorite time to bet on Ohtani is when he's enduring a "cold spell," and my favorite time to bet on home run props is the next day after everyone else did. Check, and check.
